Pregnancy and Chiropractic
Pregnancy is a time of dramatic changes in a woman's body as her uterus expands to care for her growing baby. The mother must adapt and compensate for many postural and hormonal changes while pregnant.

Gentle, prenatal chiropractic care can help to relieve some of the stresses of pregnancy. The chiropractor helps the mother improve balance to the pelvis and spine, and allow for an easier birthing process. When the mother's body is in balance, her growing baby can develop in a healthier environment.

Webster Technique and Breech Babies
The Webster Technique defined:

This chiropractic technique helps to correct sacral misalignment, balance pelvic muscles and ligaments which in turn removes torsion to the woman's uterus, its resulting constraint to the baby, and allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.
Pregnant moms with babies in the breech position may visit chiropractors for this safe and gentle technique. The Webster Technique is a technique delivered by a Certified Doctor of Chiropractic to improve the overall functioning of the bony pelvis, uterus and ligaments. This may allow the uterus to function properly to increase the space needed to give the baby the room it needs to turn. Even expecting moms that are progressing well in their pregnancy can benefit from the Webster Technique because it helps to bring mom to an optimal level of health as well as prepare for delivery. All so that mother and baby can have the best birthing experience possible!

The Webster Technique is a natural alternative to External Cephalic Version. No drugs are needed to perform this technique and it is gentle for both mother and baby.

How does Webster Technique work?
The chiropractor will examine the mechanical functioning of the pelvis and spine, as well as tension of ligaments of the uterus. The doctor delivers an adjustment and addresses the ligaments and muscles. This process relieves tension and improves alignment of the mother's pelvis that may be stopping the baby from turning "head down.” Some of our patients have reported improved fetal positioning after just one adjustment. While others have needed more help with correcting misalignments that they have had for a long period of time.

When the nervous system free of interference and is allowed to work at its optimal level, the mother’s body will know exactly what to do!

Research demonstrates that moms who have used the Webster Technique have an 85% success rate compared to the 35% success rate of an External Cephalic Version.
